The Sentinel, KJLH Radio, Ward Economic Development, the New Frontier Democratic Club and We Vote for Change will host the first presidential debate, where the public is invited to watch next Friday on a six-foot projector in front of the Sentinel office. Democratic nominee Barack Obama and Republican nominee John McCain will spar live from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. The Sentinel will provide seating for at least 200 people, however more are invited to watch.
Sentinel officials are also encouraging people to travel to Nevada to campaign on behalf of Obama. Volunteers will be responsible for their own expenses. The viewing party starts at 5:00 pm. Refreshments will be served.
I watched the first Presidential Debate with inconsequential. Boring and a letdown. Note, McCain had no eye contact with Obama. A little "Washington shuffle" was used during the complete debate.
