A "No Vote" Hurts like a "No" Vote

Now a lot of people have their thoughts on Talk to Danny. Whether you believe in what I am saying or not, it really does not matter. What really matters is that you are committed to what is happening within our community. Whether or not you truly believe what is happening in our community or not. What you actually believe is your decision. In the end, it is your judgment that truly matters. Whether we believe what is right or wrong, good or bad is our inevitable choice. And for each and everyone one of us, our commitment is to live up to our convictions.

Now our community has lots of things that are our challenges. Whether to vote for Barack Obama is but one of our choices. Whether to vote for Hillary Clinton is another choice. In the end, it is our moral compass that will lead us.

But again, I ask all of you to decide. Who is the best candidate for US? Who truly believes in the value system that we believe in? Who cares about the things we are committed to? That is ultimately the candidate that matters to me.

Our choices are drastic. Our choices are historical. Again that is why I believe in Senator Barack Obama as the next President of these United States. Not because he is Black but because he is BEST. As we approach these final days, we will all be challenged again and again to make the best choice and decide who is best to lead America. I ask all of you to decide who is the best for us, not who is the popular one for us.

Now I have heard that if Senator Obama is not voted in then we don’t want to vote at all. I encourage all of you rethink that thought process. That is what makes America great. That even when you don’t like the choice that has been chosen you must still decide on who is the best man or woman for the job. Now, I really don’t believe that George Bush or the Republican nominee John McCain will ever have OUR best heart in mind. So, let’s think about the fact that a NO vote or a NON vote for Barack is not a Yes vote for us. A vote is a vote. Hillary is better than what we have. Barack is the best thing we have, but not voting is never an option. Just think about it. I am putting that on you now rather than waiting until later.

So, whether you agree or disagree, now more than ever I really need your input. I need to hear from you. I need to know what is going on in our community. I also need to know what other stories we need to tell, and what is on your mind. I really do want to hear from you, I want you to “Talk to Danny.”

God Bless You,
Danny J. Bakewell, Jr.
