CNS--The Board of Supervisors today offered $10,000 for information about a man wanted in the murder of a 6-year-old boy and extended another $10,000 reward in the rape of a woman during a home invasion.

Authorities hope newly approved reward will lead them to Marcas Fisher, who has been named in a murder warrant in the beating death of Dae'von Bailey, who was found dead July 23 in a home in the 800 block of East 87th Place.

Fisher, 36, is a former boyfriend of the boy's mother, Tylette Davis.

Dae'von's mother asked Fisher take care of the boy and, according to police, social workers had agreed to let Dae'von live with Fisher, despite his criminal record.

Fisher is on probation for burglary and drug-related crimes and was jailed on suspicion of drunken driving in June, according to Los Angeles police Cmdr. Pat Gannon.

There were reports that the boy was being abused, including a warning to social workers from officials at a clinic who treated Dae'von for a bloody nose weeks before he died, according to the Los Angeles Times.

In the wake of Dae'von's death, both Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, who recommended the $10,000 reward, and Supervisor Gloria Molina, called for a review of procedures followed by the Department of Children and Family Services.

The reward also applies to information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone who may be helping Fisher elude police.

At the recommendation of Supervisor Don Knabe, the board also extended the expiration of a reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of whoever raped and robbed a legally blind, 82-year-old woman in Norwalk early in the morning of May 1.

Despite physical evidence, including DNA, and a composite sketch of the suspect, sheriff's deputies have not been able to track down the rapist.

The latter reward, which would have expired Aug. 17, will now be available until at least Nov. 15.
