Brookins Holds Annual Lay Day Service

052208_BrookinsRevMilesBrookins Community A.M.E. Church will hold its Annual Lay Day service on Sunday, May 25, at 3 p.m., announced Rev. Dr. Frederick O. Murph, senior minister.

The service, sponsored by Brookins Lay Organization, will be held in the sanctuary of the church’s Community Development Center, 1900 West 48th Street in Los Angeles.

“The community -at-large is invited to attend and hear our guest speaker, the Rev. Donnell O. Miles, senior pastor of Price Chapel A.M.E. Church. I sincerely believe you will be challenged, encouraged, and edified through his words of godly wisdom,” said Rev. Dr. Murph. Gwen Williams, Lay president, Price Chapel’s choir and ushers, and members of the Lay Organization will also participate in the service.

Rev. Miles was ordained an itinerant elder in the A.M.E. Church in 1993. He served as pastor of St. Paul A.M.E. in Fowler, PA and First A.M.E. in Richmond, PA before receiving his current assignment in 2004. A graduate of California State University- Hayward, Rev. Miles also earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Sacramento Theology Seminary.

Brookins holds worship services on Sundays at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., and Mid-Week Worship on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Community Development Center on the corner of 48th Street and Gramercy Place. Also, services are broadcast Sundays at 7:30 a.m. on KJLH 102.3-FM radio station and on the Internet at www.kjlhradio.com.
