Pullin' no punches!!  What's hot... and what's not!  The latest on two new recent album releases

Rap artist Rich Boy has emerged over night with the hit single “Throw Some D’s” featuring Polow Da Don. If you haven’t heard the song you must have been under a rock for the last three months because “Throw Some D’s”, has become one the most requested songs in the country.

 Rich Boy hails from Alabama. Let me be the first to say the boy is the truth. He has a star quality about him or that “it” factor as critics like to call it. He spits with a heavy country accent which makes his rap delivery stand-out. His rapping style is very unique.

Rich Boy reminds me a lot of Nelly when he first entered the music scene because he is different than the norm we are use to. But don’t get it twisted, Rich Boy is a true talent. He’s more than just a clever accent. He is a versatile emcee who demonstrates a great upside.

 The intro track “Madness”, is a great introduction track because it leaves the listener wanting more. The album immediately picks up speed when you turn to track 3 titled “Boy Looka Here”. This is my personal favorite because it has an anthem appeal. With a good visual backing the song (music video), “Boy Looka Here” could easily be the choice for the second radio single.

Track 5 titled “What It Do”, is another stand out track because Rich Boy flips his style to match the production. And let me just say that producer extraordinaire Lil Jon laced Rich Boy with a club banger so you wont be disappointed if “What It Do”, is added to your play list.

“Good Things”, is laidback track for the ladies and its one of those songs that will grow on you. The more you listen to it the more you will be able to relate. Another stand out track is track 10 titled “Gangsta”. This song has west coast written all over it. I was happy to see Rich Boy could flip it and rhyme to the pace of west coast production because it proved he can collaborate and find a medium. With every region of music being different, it’s important for an emcee to relate and appeal to different styles of rap.

 “Get to Poppin”, is another anthem style track. The production is fire!! I suggest playing this song in the morning because it has a great up tempo feeling. It’s a great track to play while you work out. The best song on the album is “Lost Girls feat. Keri & Rock City. It’s an inspirational song but I liked how Rich Boy’s lyrics are still raw in description which makes the message behind the song powerful.

For this being his debut effort, Rich Boy surpassed all of my expectations. “Rich Boy” is a must get CD. You’ll enjoy the production and especially the personality of Rich Boy. He’s a superstar in the making. Bump It!!

Young Buck is back with his highly anticipated sophomore album “Buck the World”. And the G-Unit’s southern soldier doesn’t disappoint. He gives his consumers exactly what they want which is a full dose of Young Buck mania.

“Buck The World”, is definitely a step up from Young Buck’s first album “Straight Outta Cashville”. Don’t get what I’m saying twisted because “Straight Outta Cashville” was and still is a bangin’ album. I still pop it in every now and then because there are some classic songs on that album. But “Buck The World”, is exactly what Young Buck is about. There isn’t any beating around the bush when it comes to the direction of the album.

It’s no mystery that Young Buck is a hard core rapper so I’m warning listeners now that this album is raw in content. Young Buck will say exactly what he feels and leave the lyrical approach (punch-lines) to his G-Unit partner Lloyd Banks. Besides a couple of laid back joints like the first single produced by Jazze Pha titled "I Know You Want Me", or “You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere” produced by Dr. Dre, the album is full of hard core singles.

The other stand-out tracks on “Buck The World”, are "Hold On" featuring 50 Cent which is also produced by the Dr. Dre and "Four Kings" which features Young Jeezy, T.I. and Pimp C. “Four Kings”, is also produced by Jazzy Pha.

"I Ain't ******* With You" is another smooth banger. The track features Snoop Dogg, Trick Daddy, and R&B singer Dion. The song was produced by Hi-Tek and anyone that knows about Hi-Tek’s production knows that Hi-Tek delivers some of the best rap production in the world. That’s why Dr. Dre keeps him in house.

For those that don’t know, R&B singer Dion is a newest edition to the Aftermath imprint. He was signed to the label last year under Hi-Tek so be on the look out for his debut album slated to hit stores late this summer.

Eminem joins the project with a record called "Murder, Murder." Also appearing on the LP are artists Trey Songs, Lyfe, Bun B, 8Ball & MJG, the whole G-Unit family and 615. 615 is a group Young Buck put together made up of artists Lil' Murder, D-Tay, and Hi-C.

The only problem with the album is its too redundant. Young Buck is too angry. Every song is about the same thing. I understand he’s from the hood but I want to know what has been going on since the first album. Life must have gotten better over the last two years so I would have liked to hear a different side of Young Buck.

His song topics need to broaden. Young Buck needs more range and his lyrical content has to expand. But as I said earlier, you know what you’re getting with this purchase. The title of the album sums it up. “Buck The World”!! So don’t be surprised by Young Bucks blatant “F” the world bravado. It’s a safe purchase because you know what you’re getting. Bump It!
