Chris Westlake, deputy director of California's Housing and Community Development Division will be guest speaker at the "Hour of EZ Power" business seminar on Monday, June 29, at 2:30 pm. The seminar will be held at the Compton CareerLink Auditorium, 700 N. Bullis Rd., Compton, CA 90221.

Hosted by the Compton Planning and Economic Development Department's Business Services Division, the seminar will provide information on how businesses can survive and thrive in the City of Compton by using EZ (Enterprise Zone) benefits. Westlake, a dynamic expert on housing and community development, will provide useful information on how to earn more than $37,000 income tax credits for each qualified employee hired, how to earn EZ sales tax credits on purchasing qualified machinery and machine parts valued at $20 million, how to take extra EZ expense reductions on certain types of business equipment and more. This seminar will illustrate how business owners use the EZ tools to benefit their businesses and show you how you also can use these tools to benefit your own business.

These seminars are designed to help the City attract new businesses wanting to take advantage of Compton's enterprise zone designation and help the businesses already located in Compton continue benefiting their businesses through EZ tools they may not be aware exist.

The seminars are free. However, seating is limited. Please reserve space by calling Roosevelt Peters at 310.761.1452 or via email at .
