Virtually everyone believes that the Bible speaks of an apocalyptic time period where the earth is destroyed in a colossal conflagration of some kind. "In Noah's Day the Lord used water," a true believer will tell you. "But in our day He's going to use fire!" (2 Peter 3:5-7) To be sure, the ominous event has been the subject of countless books and magazines, and more than a few movies and documentaries. Feature films like Armageddon (1998), starring Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton, and End of Days (1999), starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Gabriel Berne, are two of many that may come to mind. Intriguingly, none of the end-of-the-world media genre associates members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community with the last days of this wicked system of things. Could it all be a 'sign of the times'?

Jesus spoke of the "days of Noah" as an apocalyptic time period. "Likewise," he said, were "the days of Lot." (Luke 17:26-28) He then went on to say: "But on the day that Lot came out of Sodom it rained fire and sulphur from heaven and destroyed them all. The same way it will be on that day when the Son of man is to be revealed...Remember the wife of Lot." (Luke 17:29-32) Jesus' brother Jude said that in Sodom and Gomorrah there was "immorality and every kind of sexual perversion" (Jude 7; New Living Translation); or, that there was "all sorts of sexual sins" (Contemporary English Version); or, that the cities were "full of sexual sin and people who desired sexual relations that God does not allow" (New Century Version); or, that the people "committed sins of the worst possible kind." (New International Reader's Version)

And then Jesus' good friend and faithful apostle Peter said that the destruction of the days of Noah and Lot 'set a pattern for ungodly persons of things to come.' (2 Peter 2:5, 6; New World Translation) Indeed, the Sodomites are "an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly" same-sex lovers of these last days. (2 Peter 2:6; New International Version) Women also inhabited these cities just as they were around in Noah's day. For this reason, neither Jude nor Peter use gender specificity. The jilted women of Sodom, Gomorrah, and surrounding cities doubtlessly practiced lesbianism, and perhaps even bestiality. (Compare Ex. 22:19; Lev. 18:23) They, too, were destroyed.

Lesbian Legacy: There is discussion masquerading as debate as to whether or not lesbians get the virus that causes AIDS. Here's what makes it a pseudo argument: prostitutes infected with HIV have in turn infected their johns through vaginal fluids, especially if menstrual blood is present. Now, if this same HIV-infected prostitute was to service a female client through vagina-to-vagina sex, and menstrual blood was present in the prostitute, bingo, the female client is exposed to and may well have been infected. Don't let anyone tell you that lesbians cannot get HIV/AIDS from each other.

In my previous article published last week I listed some diseases associated with gay men. Well girls, it's your turn this week. The following is a list of "lesbian" maladies and infections and the practices that spread them. Thrush: A disease where there is an overgrowth of yeast causing vaginal itching and soreness, often with a white discharge. It is contracted through lesbian sex, both vagina-to-vagina and oral sex. Bacterial Vaginosis (Gardnerella): This disease is characterized by an overgrowth of vaginal bacteria causing a smelly discharge, which lesbians often experience, some believe exclusively. Genital Warts: These are unsightly bumps or warts on the vulva, in the vagina, on the cervix or round the anus. They can be passed through lesbian sex, and by touching, rubbing or sharing "sex toys." It is possible that non-genital warts on the hands of one female can be transferred to the vagina of another during fondling. HPV (Human papillomavirus) causes genital warts in both men and women.

Trichomonas vaginalis (TV): This is one TV you don't want to watch. TV is a gruesome disease that results in a frothy, itchy vaginal discharge and is passed on by vagina-to-vagina contact, touching the infected vagina with the hand, or sharing "sex toys." Herpes: This disease can cause painful sores on the inside of the vulva/vagina or anus (genital herpes) or on the mouth (cold sores). Herpes can be passed on through oral sex, vagina-to-vagina contact, fondling, or sharing "sex toys." It can be possible to have the herpes virus, be infectious and yet never have had any symptoms. 'Crabs'/Pubic Lice: These cling to pubic and other body hair causing itching and sometimes blood spots from bites. They are spread through vagina-to-vagina contact, oral sex, or naked body/skin contact. Chlamydia/gonorrhea: These diseases are passed on through sharing "sex toys" or rubbing vulvas together. Often there are no symptoms, though there may be a discharge. The first sign of both infections may be pain in the pelvic region (pelvic inflammatory disease or PID). There is a risk of infertility for women who have had chlamydia, which has been untreated. Syphilis: This disease is very infectious and is contracted through vagina-to-vagina contact or any other close skin contact during lesbian sex. Hepatitis B: This malady is a viral infection, which in its most infectious forms can easily be passed on in lesbian sex (oral or vaginal), and by touching or sharing "sex toys." There are often no symptoms, though it can cause jaundice (yellow skin) or nausea.

Oh, hold your applause. I'm not smart enough to have come up with this tantalizing list of nauseating diseases all by myself. It was adapted from the booklet More than just friends-Information, advice and help for lesbians and bisexual women on sexual health, HIV & AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections, published by Sheffield Centre for HIV & Sexual Health. I also consulted my book, The Theology Behind Scientific Thought (Vol. 3). By the way, the December 22, 1993 issue of the Los Angeles Times reports that while "health research on lesbians is virtually nonexistent...there are indications that they may suffer from higher rates of breast cancer than do heterosexual women." Not good.

Me, a 'homophobic' racist?: Finally, one of my fellow Sentinel columnists, Jasmyne Cannick (an avowed lesbian) took me to task by saying, among other things, the following: "I don't know which is worse, racist white gays or Bible thumping homophobes who are intellectually challenged like Dr. Carr." Well, "homophobia" is an interesting term. The Los Angeles Times (July 16, 1993) quoted one observer as follows: "Those who throw around that term 'homophobic' ought to recognize the principle of what goes around comes around. Shall we label male homosexuals 'women-phobic' and 'vagina-phobic' and lesbians 'men-phobic' and 'penis-phobic.'?" Could it be that many in the LGBT community are "heterophobes"? Because of being so influential, the powerful LGBT community has seen to it that as of this printing, "heterophobia" occurs 83,500 on Google whereas "homophobia" occurs 3,390,000 times. (Also, "heterophobia" shows up as a misspelled word in Microsoft Word whereas "homophobia" doesn't.)

And as far as comparing me to "racist white gays" is concerned, well, this may be the height of irony. The White racist overlords of the prison industrial system promote homosexuality as a form of Black genocide by incarcerating our Black male youths at the tender ages of 15-25, at the height of their sexual prowess. By winking at and even encouraging homosexuality and lesbians in the Black community, African Americans in the LGBT community are playing right into the hands of White racists. So, give it some more thought as you live as lesbians and gays in these the "last days." Amen.

Again, Dr. Carr's comments are hilarious. If he would leave his cocoon of the Kingdom Hall, he would not be scared of other folks and the way they live their lives.

Dear KAJ:

It's probably more accurate to suggest I abandon that bastion that is the Bible. It was around long before Kingdom Halls were built. (But I'm sure the Witnesses would be flattered that you ostensibly equate their teachings with those of the Bible.)

Thanks for reading my column. Disappointingly, like virtually everyone who has taken exception to what I've written along these lines, you have noting to say to refute the facts presented herewith. (Perhaps you should join that ‘cocoon that is the Kingdom Hall.’ The theocratic ministry school is outstanding. Believe me. And it’s free!)

Again, thanks for reading though. I appreciate your loyalty.

Respectfully,

Dr. Firpo Carr

Mr. Firpo, the diseases you talked about are common amongst heterosexuals as well as gays and lesbians.

Take it from a black man, when I say that what you are doing is no different than a racist distorting FBI statistics to accuse gay men of having a high rate of crime or using the Maury Povich show to claim that black women are promiscuous.

Posted by jaybee, on 12-12-2008 18:50,
Lesbians are women, why is this man writing about them as if they are not. And, is he a gynocologist? Why is this man obsessed with sexual diseases of homosexuals? Seems like a mental problem to me. Seriously, he needs help. If he was more intelligent, he'd actually be dangerous. Right now, he's just pitiful.

sorry, i meant to say distorting FBI statistics to accuse black men of having a high rate of crime. this site gives a perfect example of what i am talking about - www.antigayliesandliars.blogsp ot.com

To A. McEwen and jaybee:

There seems to be some disagreement between you two although you both are critical of my position. Jaybee accuses me of being "obsessed with sexual diseases of homosexuals," while A. McEwen effectively says I'm distorting the facts, asserting that "the diseases you talked about are common amongst heterosexuals as well as gays and lesbians."

Well, this latter point flies in the face of the facts, including this quote from the above article:

"By the way, the December 22, 1993 issue of the Los Angeles Times reports that while 'health research on lesbians is virtually nonexistent...there are indications that they may suffer from higher rates of breast cancer than do heterosexual women.'" The quote speaks for itself. This is only one example. I'm not making this stuff up.

McEwen, don't delude yourself. HIV/AIDS is disproportionately higher among gay men and the Black community according to the CNN. Here's a quote from my previous article (from CNN):

"And 56,000 more people are infected
each year in the U.S., driving HIV prevalence rates in some of our communities to levels that rival those seen in sub-Saharan Africa. Gay and bisexual men, and African-Americans
in general, are disproportionately affected. The true ground zero of the HIV epidemic in the United States is in those communities.”

Become more familiar with the facts my friend. You seem sincere, and I appreciate that. I'll write a future article that really drives home the point that what gays are experiences are medical problems unique to them. No doubt.

I welcome your response.

Respectfully,

Dear jaybee:

Aside from your immature ranting and name-calling (I truly mean no offense), you haven't contradicted anything I've stated in the article. You presented no facts; only emotion.

I'll share something with you though, since you took the time to read my article and write. I'm growing more and more disappointed that some gay or lesbian doctor, lawyer, scientist, psychiatrist, psychologist, or other professional won't step to the plate and challenge what I've stated. I'll publicly debate any of them, as I have in the past.

Since it's the Christmas season, you might view this next bit of information as a gift: I was prompted to write these articles when the racist, predominantly White LGBT community assaulted the Black community because most African Americans (approx. 70%) believe same-sex marriage is wrong. When this happens, expect to hear from me.

More importantly, as an avid reader of the book of my dark-skinned ancestors--The Holy Bible--I carry on their tradition of condemning the practice of same-sex unions. It's in my blood.

And as far as me not being a gynecologist, well, most of the people in the world today, nay, in history, have been delivered by men. Translation? I don't have to be a gynecologist (or obstetrician for that matter) to know that lesbians can pass on HIV/AIDS to each other by "bumping cunts," as they call it,

And since you brought up the matter of intelligence, aside from your childish spouting, you're also guilty of something akin to "genetic fallacy" in critical thinking. Again, I don't mean to offend.

So, there you have it. While I have very thick skin and welcome CONSTRUCTIVE criticism (and even facetiousness), name-calling is just too elementary for me. Actually, it's beneath me.

So, if you continue to do that, I'll not respond to you again. Please forgive me if I’ve offended you by any of this.

Thanks for writing.

Silence your hate, "Doctor". Better yet, why don't you tell the nice people about the diploma mill you got your degree from?

What makes you think that you're allowed to hate people just because they're different from you? OR is it okay since they're not the same kind of different you are?

Dear Damian:

I also went to "substandard" schools in the ghetto. Any comments on the article?

Dear Sir,
Your faith has many times predicted the "Last Days", and so far has been wrong on every occasion. Why should anyone believe in the truth of such a system of errors and distortion? This is a secular nation, founded on the principals of individual rights and freedoms, which include the freedom to believe whatever we wish. You have taken it upon yourself to vilify and victimize a group of people who've never done anything to harm you in the slightest. Your obsession with gays and lesbians is baffling, unless it is a financial windfall, or attempt to cover up some deeper shame or damage to your own psyche created by your hateful attitudes and activities. How many books have you sold by using these cheap and deceitful arguments to create fear? Do you not have anything better to do with your limited time on earth?

Posted by Audrey, on 12-13-2008 06:15,
The reason that heterophobia is mentioned so little is that gays don't bash people for being hetero. They don't go around and associate diseases with their sex in order to enflame fear and hatred against them. By the way, heterosexual couples engage in all of the sexual activity that you associate with gays.

The real issue related to these diseases is sexual permissiveness and the number of partners with one has sex. Both gay and straight people get all of the diseases you mention.

The fact that you try to stigmatize gays and lesbians with them is, in fact, a sign of homophobia. To do it in god’s name is to attempt to legitimize it.

Lastly, can you please tell me which cereal box tops you used to earn your doctorate? I gotta get me one of those too.

What a shameful decision by the editors of this paper ("Voted America's Number One Black Newspaper") to give this individual a platform as an opinion-maker. It's frankly an embarrassment to the entire AA community.

The kind of hateful ignorance spouted in these last three columns is on par with the worst racist pseudo-science from a hundred years ago. No responsible publication would allow such a charlatan as this to soil their reputation.

Posted by Damian, on 12-13-2008 11:44,
I refuse to comment on your hate other than that you need to silence it, now. Your hate will eventually bring your downfall, when people realize that hatemongers like you are unnecessary. As for your subtle way of trying to twist my words, you got your degree from Pacific State University, a known diploma mill. You are a fake doctor, plain and simple.

Silence your hate and see how you harm others, as you spout the same rhetoric used to keep your brethren down. Silence yourself. Now.

Posted by Damian, on 12-13-2008 11:49,
Oops - amend "Pacific State University" in that comment above - should be "Pacific Western University". That'll teach me to type in a hurry.

Damien, Audrey and the rest:

You're trying to have a rational discussion with a guy named "Firpo" who thinks that there's an evil conspiracy to send black men to prison and turn them gay. Do the math.
