LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Republican Mike Huckabee responded to an offstage noise during his speech to the National Rifle Association by suggesting it was Barack Obama diving to the floor because someone had aimed a gun at him.
Hearing a loud noise and interrupting his speech, Huckabee said: "That was Barack Obama. He just tripped off a chair. He's getting ready to speak and somebody aimed a gun at him and he — he dove for the floor."
There were only a few murmurs in the crowd after the remark.
The Obama campaign had no comment.
Huckabee, who sought the GOP presidential nomination, won the leadoff Iowa caucuses and seven other states. But he dropped out after Sen. John McCain, the likely nominee, piled up a series of big victories. An ordained Baptist minister, Huckabee attracted strong support among religious conservatives.
He and former GOP candidate Mitt Romney addressed the NRA convention Friday as did McCain.
It amazes me how comfortable White America is with EXPECTING Black America to gloss over things like this in the name of good-ole-humor, while ALSO expecting us to dismiss the possibility of any undertones meant by it.
HOW INCREDIBLE!
Huckabee should be sentenced to living the rest of his life as a Black Man! See how many jokes like this he'd tell then!

Wow! Here we are in 2008 and feelings like these are still smoldering in the hearts of the unexpected. The heart is desaprately wicked. Who can know it? I really liked Hukabee. That statement speaks volumes of his true colors. Wow...

You know he wants to be VP, right??
Does anybody else besides me feel trapped?
Also it would be nice to see some journalist look further into why McCain voted AGAINST MLK and voted FOR pro-apartheid legislation.
Why has McCain issued new rules for his campaign staff? Is it because he doesn't want any revealing mistakes made that would inspire further digs into his KKK connection conspiracy or his hazy past?
Journalist: we've got work to do. This could be our last chance to put the spotlight on the truth. Or, are we too tied into the current framework to disrupt it for the greater good?
Now that the second presidential debate is over, there is only one left before the general election and the nation’s economic woes are crying out for solutions.
