Why are we having an Obama-Thon to commemorate the Passing of Dr. Martin Luther King?

The reason is simple. The very essence of what Dr. King lived for and ultimately died for was so that "One day a man would be judged, not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character". Well, if Barack Obama wins the Democratic nomination, and if Barack Obama becomes President of the United States that dream will have come to fruition.

Also, because Dr. King and the entire Civil Rights movement was a grassroots movement. It was not funded by multi million dollar conglomerates it was fought by the very people that were going to be the beneficiaries of the movement. It was a grassroots effort.

Well that is the concept of this Obama-Thon. to have a real grassroots fundraiser where every and anyone who wants to support the Obama for America Campaign can come and be a part of this historic movement.

We want you to bring 4 dollars, 40 dollars, 400 or 4000 dollars the idea is just to be a part of this movement. Bring someone out and register them to vote, volunteer, pick up a button, a T-Shirt or a yard sign.

In the end we want you to do want Dr. King wanted you to do. Be a part of the solution, be a part of history, be a part of making Barack Obama........ President Obama.

So, whether you agree or disagree, now more than ever I really need your input. I need to hear from you. I need to know what is going on in our community. I also need to know what other stories we need to tell, and what is on your mind. I really do want to hear from you, I want you to “Talk to Danny.”
