In a move that will certainly boost his candidacy, Isadore Hall, Compton City Councilman received the endorsement from Assembly-man Mervyn Dymally, the incumbent, to succeed him as assemblyman of the 52nd district. That endorsement is of great significance since Dymally is such a well-respected veteran of the state politics that he is affectionately called the “Dean of the Assembly. In announcing his support for Hall, Dymally said. “My decision to support Councilman Hall was not a difficult one; however, it was a well thought out and careful decision.” Hall and Dymally have had an outstanding working relationship that has assisted Hall in meeting some of his many challenges while serving the residents of Compton.

“Isadore was my first appointee to the Los Angeles County Democratic Central Committee and we have also worked on making the City of Compton an enterprise zone,” Dymally continued, “This program has brought new businesses to Compton.”

Hall expressed his thanks to Dymally and listed a number of other issues on which they collaborated in support of the City of Compton including: Returning local control to Compton Unified School District; the passage of an $80 million bond issue to build and repair more schools; and developing a program to return local control of Compton Community College to the people of Compton.

Hall has also received the endorsement of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor and major support from the clergy. Last month, he endorsed Dymally for the 25th District senate race. According to public records, there are three other candidates vying for the 52nd assembly district seat.
