Things have been so chaotic that it's been difficult to post an update.   The rally is over, but it's presence is totally still being felt.   We're now back at the Holiday Inn in Alexandria having the bus cleaned and prepared for our trip back to Los Angeles.   The mood is still overwhelmingly uplifting.  So much so, that an impromptu concert has ensued in the lobby while we're waiting.   It's amazing how Black people seem to have an ability to unite around music - particularly gospel music.   The group started out singing some old school R&B songs, but in the end, we found ourselves "in church!"

Olusheyi sang a few songs, and I even got motivated to perform my rendition of "Bread of Heaven" from Fred Hammond.    An epiphany of sorts... that Black people DO indeed come together.   A sister named Tori (from Louisiana) sang "Silver and Gold" by Kirk Franklin.  Taschi, a cat from New Orleans, broke out "I'm Walking" by Donnie McClurkin.  He and Olusheyi performed "I Won't Complain!"  There was true fellowshipping going on in that lobby.

This spontaneous meeting of strangers and fellow bus riders became a highlight of the trip without question.
