Los Angeles – A call for nominations is currently underway for The Mablean
Ephriam Foundation’s Honoring Unsung Fathers (H.U.F.) Awards and Scholarship
Brunch to be held on June 17, 2007. The Fifth Father’s Day awards brunch
will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center – Concourse Hall in

Established to bring attention and recognition to everyday fathers who maintain
a lifestyle that exemplifies love towards their spouses, children, family and

“I am so grateful for the opportunity to extend love to these remarkable
men,” says Judge Mablean. “If you know a father that loves and respects
his wife, is dedicated to his children or a student who gives back to their
community, take a moment to nominate them for a 2007 H.U.F. Award & Scholarship.”
A total of five (5) awards will be presented during the brunch program to a
single father (Solo Warrior), married father (Love Cares), divorced father (Fatherhood
Forever), non-biological father (Village Dad) and a senior father (Living Legacy).
In addition to these awards, the Founder, Judge Mablean, presents a Founder/President’s
Award to a father hand- picked by her. This year’s Founder/President’s
Awardee will be John Strickland, the father of the youngest pilot in history
from Compton, California.
In addition to the Father’s Day Awards, the foundation will present five
(5) high school students from the Greater Los Angeles Area with a scholarship.
