Millenneum Shoe Store, an established retail outlet that features popular, contemporary hip-hop fashions including footwear, clothing, and accessories, recently hosted a grand opening in their remodeled location on Manchester Boulevard, one block from Inglewood High School.

Kristine Gors, store manager, said, “I am excited about our store opening in Inglewood and I am certainly proud to have been appointed store manager.”

Gors, a young Black woman who has been a Millenneum employee for a little over one year, began as a sales associate and was surprised and delighted to be selected as store manager.

“I knew that our company promoted from within and from the beginning of my association with the company, attempted to demonstrate that I could be punctual, deliver a positive sales attitude, and successfully complete all of the work related tasks I was asked to perform,” she noted.

Those qualities and others are among those she is seeking as they continue to add cashiers, retail sales clerks, stockroom personnel, security officers and others to complement the grand opening staff that was present on opening day.

“In addition to hiring full-time staff in all categories,” Gors explained, “we also are able to provide opportunities for high school students and adults who may have a court-ordered need to satisfy community service obligations.”

“We recognize that community service is frequently required of those who commit minor infractions and it is often difficult for them to find suitable situations for them to volunteer in a safe and convenient location,” Gors described. “We do permit a certain number of community service volunteers to complete their service at our store and will also be able to offer extra high school credit in some cases.”

Millenneum is distinguishing itself from other similar retail stores by offering exclusive footwear and apparel from the industry’s most popular providers.

“We have exclusive Air Force 1’s, limited Jordan’s, and Creative Recreation from Kanye West, to name only a few,” Gors said. “We also feature a complete LRG line, Triko Clothing, and other top designers with styles and a wide selection of male and female clothing for infants, children, and adults.”

Millenneum is a growing franchise with four stores in the Los Angeles area and a total of nine. Their commitment to the City of Inglewood is demonstrated in their transformation of an abandoned nightclub adjacent to downtown Inglewood to a modern and attractive retail sales space, as well as the new construction of a warehouse facility on the same property.

Applicants seeking employment at Millenneum are subjected to a routine evaluation interview as well as a criminal background investigation. They are seeking applicants with a desire to learn, an ability to deliver a professional level of performance, and those who are interested in growing from within. Drug-testing is not a requirement for retail sales staff.
