CNS - A 19-year-old parolee was charged this week with murder in the Aug. 17 shooting death of a 16-year-old girl outside a party in Pasadena. Johnl Dvon Reynolds was arraigned the afternoon of August 28 in Pasadena Superior Court in connection with Ebony Huel’s slaying. The teenager was shot about 11 p.m. August 17 outside a party in a building in the 2000 block of Lincoln Avenue.
She died the following day at Huntington Memorial Hospital. Police said Huel—who would have been a junior at Pasadena High School this fall—was not the intended victim. Along with the murder count, Reynolds is charged with one count each of attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a felon, according to Deputy District Attorney Michelle Humphrey.
The complaint alleges that the crimes were committed to further a criminal street gang and that Reynolds personally discharged a handgun. Reynolds, who had been released from prison about three weeks earlier and was on parole for armed robbery, was arrested the day after the shooting. He was jailed on $3.1 million bail.
