With a who’s who list of previous opponents, Price (14-5) is once again in the elite mix of what coach Michael Lynch aptly calls “the most competitive division” - Division IV-AA.

Most recently, the Knights enhanced their position with a controversial two-point win over No. 2 Serra, and again in a hard fought 75-70 victory over No 5 Leuzinger (Division II-A) at Serra's Cavalier Classic.

Lynch noted that Windward, Bishop Montgomery, and Crespi are among the serious divisional contenders.  Price has faced off against all three in the preseason, as well as other notable programs including Etiwanda, Pasadena, and Alemany.  At a glance that is taking on at least eight programs with rankings ranging from 1 through 6 in their respective divisions and a number of other good teams.

Fortunately for Price, that list doesn’t represent their playoff bracket.  However, if anything it battle tests a program before the post season, that schedule does.  It can only serve as a benefit down the road.  Other obvious benefits include having San Diego State bound power forward Skylar Spencer and star guard Chance Murray who led with 15 points in the nail biter against Leuzinger.

Considering the fact that Price, Windward, Serra, and Bishop have all made state final appearances within the last three seasons, how can the march to and through the playoffs be anything but intriguing?  Windward gets a shot at revenge against Price in a non-league rematch Saturday at the Fairfax State Showcase.  Serra will face host Fairfax, which Price also beat earlier.  Loyola will play Orange Lutheran.
