I want to give a special shot out to Jenesse Center, my friend Karen Earl and the Lovely Ms. Halle Berry. This past Monday, I played in the first annual Halle Berry Golf Tournament. It was truly a fabulous day, and a fabulous event. It was a chance to hang out with old friends and make new friends while enjoying a wonderful day of golf and helping an exceptional agency at the same time.

Ms. Berry, was the ultimate hostess. She came out to every hole and visited with every person who participated in the tournament. She took pictures, gave people hugs and thanked everyone for supporting the event and for supporting Jenesse. She did not only lend her name in support of the program, but she gave of herself, her time and her talent, proving that she is not only a beautiful person on the outside, but a beautiful person on the inside as well.

Now, to the real question I know all of you are wondering. How was my golf game? Well, I started out very rough and rusty, but after about 3 holes I settled down and started playing. But, my real saving grace was my team (John, Reggie, Eric and Emile), when my game was off they came through. In the end we did not win the tournament. But, I cant complain, we lost by 2 strokes to a team that had Lee Elder on it, so if I am gonna lose, at least I lost to one of the greatest golfers of all time and the first African American to ever play in The Masters. Then there’s always next year (maybe if Tiger’s not to busy we can add him to our foursome).

So, I am going to work on my game, and I certainly will be back next year, and I am encouraging all of you to join us as well.

Let me know if you let someone know they are special in your life, or that you said a special prayer for someone, let me know if there are any other issues we need to address, or what other stories we need to tell, let me know what is on your mind. I really do want to hear from you, I want you to “Talk to Danny.”

Sincerely,
Danny J. Bakewell, Jr.
