For the people that missed the last two historic years, you have missed a day of fun- filled festivities, great music, beautiful people, and some of the best food southern California has to offer.

Last year Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa was quoted as saying, “Over 100,000 people came out to support Taste of Soul”. Councilman Bernard Parks was quoted as saying “This was the largest gathering of African Americans in the history of Los Angeles”.

The buzz has spread and the official word around town is the L.A. Sentinel’s Taste of Soul is with out a doubt the best festival Los Angeles has to offer. It is estimated that this years Taste of Soul is going to bring out a record number in attendance.

With enough food to feed an entire city, Taste of Soul is like nothing you have seen or experienced before. There will be people of all ages and ethnicities including many local and national businesses providing the community with important consumer information.

With over 200 vendors consisting of everything you need from clothes, to jewelry, to art and of course tasteful food, Taste of Soul 2008 won’t miss a beat as far as serving the community.

There will be 3 musical stages, celebrity guest, a beer & wine Garden, many different family activities, and did I forget to mention lots of SOUL FOOD!! Taste of Soul promises to be one of the best days 2008 has to offer.

My girls and I have attended the first two Taste of Soul events and had a wonderful time.We have encouraged our friends and other family members to attend. It is impressing to be on that part of Crensahw Blvd and don't have cars speeding by.
I LOVE IT AND YOU WILL TO.

I agree that this is a great event. I was hoping they would add a community stage so that local acts and performers could contribute. I direct a dance group that I was hoping could be involved.

I absoulutely LOVED IT!

Last year (2008) was my first time with my daughter and I plan to attend this year more family. I agree with the other young lady about having a community stage. There are so much good local talent out there and this would be a good avenue for them to be showcased. Also, I will be glad when the event lasts for more than one day and we no choice but to extend it further down Crenshaw into Leimert Park.
God Bless....

You are charging vendors much too much money for this one day event. You went from $300 per day to $1,000 per day and you are only interested in million dollar companies who dont care about the Black community. How fake can you be? While I have vowed not to purchase another one of your newspapers altho my mother purchased many over the years, I am now speaking out about how you really are when it comes to small entreprenuers in the community. You are not about Black people who strive to become successful. Great the event is free for all but all should be able to enjoy businesses which they have never heard of but need to learn about. You bring poor excuses for why you charge so much...you should have a price break for those that can bring their own equipment. You bring no offering of lets see what we can do for the small businesses. You want big companies, nothing companies who only use the community, exploit us. Stop being fake!

I agree about the Vendor Space rent being outrageous. Please consider lowering the prices for small business.

When you think about what your are doing; consider the partons.
Please reconsider your huge vendor over head. Who, in the long run will suffer? Our people who don't have a high income but want to come and enjoy the experience.
This is all about a community coming together and celebrating what we have to be thankful for!
Spread the love!

I work for a larger company and we were charged $1175. I know that my company wouldn't blink an eye if the fee was raised by $200 (but above that they might look at it), just to help subsidise the smaller entrepreneuers. Also, the organizers should try to sell additional ad types radio/print in combo with the booths in order to generate additional revenue from some vendors - again helping to subsidise the smaller companies.
