The Freezer: The Coldest Spot in Town

“What is the freezer,” is the question we ask while reading this article.

Well here it is in a nutshell. I, as an intervention and prevention specialist over at UNITY 2 have had to endure intense training for the position.

Our supervisors had us to take the youth that we have on our case management load over to a local morgue and show them some of the harm that has been inflicted on people by others like themselves and to see the faces of these young people who have never looked their victims in the eyes. We take them to see the actual damage for them selves, which is amazing to say the least.

When we bring out a body that has been riddled with bullets from head to toe things start to look a little different in their humble hearts and souls. I always look forward to learning and doing something different every day in the world of stopping gang violence. But each time I see those people who are dead and gone in one of our sessions I say to myself, “this is where every religious institution should hold a service every week. I guarantee you that people will find God fast.”

It is amazing to see the level of carnage that we inflict on ourselves and others. The brother who does all the dirty work on the bodies said he feels more comfortable around a house full of bodies than around live humans. “Wow,” I said, “what a statement to make.”

But he has a point because they can’t hurt you at all. But if you have an ounce of good in you and you visit one of those places it will make you stop complaining and arguing and concentrating on so much destruction of others. In my humble thoughts every person who decides to join a kill squad should first see the things that I have witnessed first and then make their decision as to what they want to do with their time and lives.

How can people bee so arrogant to just walk through life with that stupid ass frown on their faces concerning some garbage and not think about their meeting with their lord and savior. People, we have to start living the best we can at this level of the game because life is way too precious and too short to be thinking that we will be here forever just treating people any way we want to. Mustafa posed a question to me concerning my meeting with God.

He asked in his own words what excuse can you give to God on the day of judgment that will be good enough to get forgiveness for your evil deeds? Well, you know the answer to that question is nothing at all, people we have to start forgiving our selves and other fast because by the token of time man is lost and in manifest error. According to the good book’s writings.

For the well-to-do people that think that God has left the building. You better get your stuff together concerning the way you deal with the poor because there is a father in the sky and a mother earth. And sometimes we as the wealthy forget that old adage, “to whom much is given much is expected.”

You better start acting like you fear God and not this world because when you leave here and they put your butt in that freezer where it is cold and dirty some time, nothing will be able to save you from the end of time.

This is not a joke people. Make sure you watch how you treat people and their lives because you will be held accountable for your actions and definitely keep in mind one thing! When I was doing my training at the morgue in the hood I noticed how the slave and the slave master were both laying on the freezer slabs under equal circumstances with no class distinctions. I did not see any first class section or big houses on their laps. So please treat people right or you might be next.
