Vote Your Voice May 19th

Since we came out in record numbers to elect our first Black President Barack Obama, we have not continued such momentum in elections that are equally as significant and close to home.

Tuesday, May 19, is yet another election where we must continue to engage in the political process because our lives depend upon it.

The propositions are critical and we must pass them as the Sentinel has suggested you shall.

Community College board member Angela J. Reddock has already done some outstanding work, as evidenced in the drastic improvements at Southwest College, and she will need your continued support to win Seat No. 2 for the district.

Our friend and Democratic Assemblyman Curren Price will require your vote to move forward an agenda for the 26th Senate seat that is beneficial to our agenda.

The only time when the political process does not work for us is when we don't do what is necessary to make sure that our voice is heard at the ballot box.

This is a vested responsibility that was fought for and that people died for and we should not ever take it for granted.

It is a process that we should be educating our children about as we participate in it so that when their time comes, they will understand the responsibility they will have before them.

Most recent local elections have seen the voter turnout dwindle, but we cannot repeat this trend.

The risk of not voting is greater than it has ever been and in the same respect, the reward is equally as great.

Vote the Sentinel Slate on May 19!

Vote for my Choice? My choice started a long time ago and my voting made no difference. I voted for equal Rights and now I have none because of crooked Politicians. Yes, Politicians in California who will stop at nothing for greed. Now I have no job because I don't speak Spanish in my own country in the state of California. No one voted to open the Border and have people take away jobs and then these people are treated with royalty compared to Blacks who have worked for decades to build this city. No one voted for benefits to be denied while others come over here and get everything given to them free at the expense of taxpayer’s money. No one voted to loose their home, while other people come over here who have never worked in this country and who are given free housing because of the color of their skin.
Yes, I agree with you that people died back in the day for us to have a right to vote and now with that right to vote people are dying because of the corrupt
System and Politicians. So why should people vote who have been terminated from their job, put out of their home onto the streets. So why should people vote to give more power to the dirty Politicians who have caused genocide on Black minorities in California? People voted years ago for Prop. 187 and it was passed and then the officials vetoed it so they could use people to support their greed and power. So I ask again, why vote?
