I agree with your comments, especially the part about Black voters believing that Obama's success is the panacea for African Americans.
It seems those who are most embarrassed by his appearances are not familiar with him or good preaching by a charismatic Black man. Wright is cut from different cloth than Martin Luther King, Jr. with his more flamboyant style.
King was a pariah among a certain class of Blacks during his time. Not until years after his death did he become the icon that he is. King was never a a part of the government but in fact fought against the government and its policies. Obama on the other hand is part of the body King attacked. It will be our duty to keep up the fight no matter who wields the power of the Presidency.
