Attacking Latinos as a group will not solve any problems in the African American community. Still Jamiel Shaw’s parents are correct in trying to change special order 40. Illegal immigrants who are gang member or who commit crimes ought to be deported. And it would be great if we could get some Latino organizations and leaders to agree with this. Along with calling for unity and cooperation with Latinos Black leaders and columnists might also encourage Latino leaders to speak out against Latino gang violence which does indeed sometimes target Blacks. Just ask Jamiel Shaw’s parents.
