Although I completely understand and respect where Mr/Mrs Massey is comming from, I disagree to the extent that the show most definitely accomplishes a very important task: It lights a fire under our behinds and at a minimum opens dialog about some serious truths we're often neglecting to address. I also don't believe that White's are the only race of people who feel threatened by our presence at times. Traditionally, every nationality in this society has been conditioned to feel threatened by us - in every negative sense. It would not be wise for us to loose sight of that fact.
There is no four hour series that is going to be a cure-all for the problems of African Americans, - and I would state this even if it were entirely produced by African Americans - on an Afriocan American network. So it's unreasonable for us to have expectations that the series will address every dynamic in our culture. What we must do is use this as an eye-opener and work to address the issues we can no longer afford to neglect, as well as the other issues that were missed.
