The Los Angeles Sentinel should file a law suit against the LAPD, and the city, based on damages the paper, and the community sustained as a result of their denying you the freedom of the press rights that you are entitled to.

As a writer and the father of a son in federal law enforcement, I was particularly interested in this story from a perspective I can trust, and one tailored to my sensibilities. Yet, I was precluded from obtaining that access through the news source that I trust most, due to the whim of some low level bureaucrat. We must ensure that never happens again.

At the very least, the Los Angeles Sentinel needs to be issued official press passes by the city. I'm shocked that we don't already have them. Mr. Mayor, where are you?
