Operation HOPE is the best idea in a long time! John Hope Bryant's appointment is legendary and honorable to say the least. But when I ask fellow youth about Operation HOPE they go, huh?

My suggestion is that the mayor, the city council, and the school board allow for financial literacy training for all high school seniors by giving tax breaks to financial institutions for contributing time, energy, and resources.

We are a college town with bright and brilliant young leaders - young leaders who are not being given opportunities to prove responsibility and practice our most precious gift from democracy, creativity. The mayor should grant high school and college credit to volunteers and tax breaks to businesses who contribute.

To quote Jay-Z, "now that's what I call a win-win."
