We have to realize that we cannot expect Barack to be treated with kids gloves by the media. I get what The New Yorker is trying to do here. It's not a magazine that the average American Idol watching, McDonalds eating, poorly informed American usually reads.
They are not going to dumb down their satire because some a) Believe the cover is the truth. or b)Think it's a covert way to make Obama look bad.
If and when Obama becomes President, are we going to get upset everytime there is some political cartoon that doesn't flatter him? Look at the way the current President is depicted and President Clinton and every other President before him. It's not always going to be something we agree with.
If this were Fox News, I'd be the first to yell "Foul!" This is the style of the New Yorker. They're making fun of all the silly rumors and beliefs of Obama
