The ‘18th Year Celebration of Love’ honoring Pastor James and First Lady Evelyn Perkins continues at True Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 7901 South Van Ness Avenue in Inglewood.
“Everyone is invited to attend this salute. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, our beloved pastor and leading lady have led the True Friendship family to higher heights and deeper depths in God’s Word,” said the Rev. La Vaughn and Mrs. Vera Phillips, general chairpersons.
The celebration began on February 9 with ‘Breakfast with the Pastor’ and on February 10 with ‘Family and Friends Day.’
On Friday, February 22, at 7 p.m., the Annual Concert takes place featuring the Voices of True Friendship along with guest choirs and soloists.
The Grand Celebration is set for Sunday, February 24. Pastor Chris Le Grande of Great Hope Baptist Church will preach at 8 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Henry Brown, assistant pastor of McCoy Memorial Baptist Church, will deliver the Gospel at 11 a.m.
McCoy Memorial Pastor Robert A. Williams will bring the message at the closing worship at 3:30 p.m.
