Dennis Zine

An established and proven track record in public service establishes Councilmember Dennis Zine as the ideal candidate to vote for in the race for city controller in the March 5 primary.

As a councilmember, Zine has focused on core services and persuaded the city to invest in public safety, street services, parks and libraries.  Throughout his career in the city council, he has worked smart and hard to ensure that our young people have opportunities through job training and placement in community beautification programs.

As city controller, he will be committed to leveling the playing field and opening up city contracting opportunities for local, minority owned businesses. Zine recently led the effort to reject $3.8 million in public relations contracts at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) because they were awarded to three public relations firms outside of the city of Los Angeles with little to no African American representation.

He is committed to ensuring that all of the communities of Los Angeles receive their fair share of basic city services.

Zine has committed his life to public service and has demonstrated that by earning the endorsement of long time African American leaders including Congresswoman Karen Bass, City Council President Herb Wesson, and Rev. Cecil "Chip" Murray.

In October, he will be serving as the co-chair for the annual Taste of Soul celebration because he understands the African American community and is committed to ensuring that Blacks are represented at the highest levels of city government.

We urge your support for him on March 5.
