Friday, May 3rd Congresswoman Janice Hahn (CA-44) hosted an export business roundtable in Wilmington CA where some 30 small business owners – many of them family-owned – gathered to discuss challenges and share experiences in the export business. Dario J. Gomez, Associate Administrator for International Trade U.S Small Business Administration, came in from Washington to answer many questions and to share valuable resources available to small business owners. While there was much interaction and enthusiasm as attendees shared success stories, there was just as much concern about regulatory barriers practiced in both international and domestic markets. In her opening remarks Hahn said, “What I can do as a Congress member is hold a series of these kinds of workshops throughout my district and bring the resources of the federal government to you instead of you [coming] to Washington. I believe you are really the backbone of this economy. Small businesses are what is going to and already has turned this economy around.”
