Annual Usher Day takes place on Sunday, July 21, at 3:30 p.m., at Brookins Community A.M.E. Church, 4831 South Gramercy Place in Los Angeles.
The theme is ‘We Trust, We Believe, We Serve’ with a scripture reference of Proverbs 3:5-6.
Pastor Mark Whitlock of Christ Our Redeemer A.M.E. Church (COR) will bring the message and the COR Usher Board will serve as host ushers.
“We are blessed with one of the best Usher Boards in the city and we’re pleased to salute their faithful service and dedication to Christ,” said Pastor Gregory McLeod I.
“The community-at-large is invited to join us in worship and be spiritually empowered by the powerful preaching of Pastor Mark Whitlock,” added Pastor McLeod.
Pastor Whitlock heads the largest African American church in Orange County. Under his leadership, Christ Our Redeemer has grown to more than 2,000 members and offers multiple ministries and outreach services for all ages.
He also serves as president of the Orange County Interdenominational Alliance and executive director of the Cecil L. Murray Center for Civic Engagement at USC.
