Lincoln Motor Company sponsors Essence’s 5th annual Grammy week event
The Lincoln Motor Company got in on the Grammy week event throwing action by hosting an exclusive luncheon at the SOHO House in West Hollywood Wednesday, January 22. The event was a precursor to the 5th annual Essence Black Women in Music event which this year honored emerging artist Emile Sandé.
Lincoln’s newest vehicle – the Lincoln MKC – shared the spotlight with Sandé at the Essence event, which has become a Grammy week staple over the past five years.
“Emeli Sandé brings fresh, groundbreaking style as a performer and songwriter, which makes her a perfect match with the new perspective the Lincoln Motor Company is bringing to the luxury segment,” said Shawn Thompson, Lincoln manager, multicultural marketing. “Lincoln is pleased to be the presenting sponsor of the 2014 Essence Black Women in Music event because it celebrates strong and creative women.
The Lincoln MKC was on the red carpet during the event in addition to the 2014 Lincoln MKZ, which provided transportation for event honorees and VIPs, including Sandé, who has earned praise from the New York Times and admiration from Sir Elton John for her powerful performances.
Essence Black Women in Music has grown to be one of the most important events leading up to the annual Grammy Awards as it celebrates emerging and established artists.
Sandé has written for a number of Grammy-winning artists. She is among a select few featured in Lincoln Motor Company’s “Journey” campaign, a program that explores inspiration, entrepreneurship and people who have followed their dreams.
