U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx and Congresswoman Karen Bass (D-Calf.) visited L.A. Trade Tech College (LATTC) on Friday, March 21, with students and faculty. 

U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx and Congresswoman Karen Bass (D-Calf.) visited L.A. Trade Tech College (LATTC) on Friday, March 21, with students and faculty.  Secretary Foxx and Rep. Bass toured the south Los Angeles campus and viewed student demonstrations on heavy machinery in the school’s state-of-the-art facilities.   Foxx spoke to students about his own personal journey and talked about his role as U.S. Transportation Secretary.  He also encouraged students to consider careers in transportation.  LATTC’s Workforce and Economic Development Division trains future workers for L.A. Metro Light Rail.

Secretary Foxx and Congresswoman Bass also joined Los Angeles business owners for a roundtable discussion, where Foxx commended LATTC President Larry Frank and Vice President for Instruction Leticia Barajas for the their commitment to educate a highly skilled workforce that California will need to keep its complex economy thriving in the 21st century.
