All new series on OWN include Oprah: Where Are They Now Sundays at 9 p.m. featuring updates on some of the biggest newsmakers and most memorable “Oprah Show” guests of all time including Jermaine Jackson, George Takei and Ali Landry, beginning August 17. Welcome To Sweetie Pie’s Saturdays at 9 p.m. returns for an all-new season. Miss Robbie and her son, Tim, prepare to expand their restaurant empire beyond St. Louis with a new location on historic Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee. Tyler Perry’s comedy series Love Thy Neighbor Wednesdays at 9 p.m. features a middle-class family and their daily joys and struggles. The Love Train Diner, an old locomotive car converted to a diner that serves up all of Hattie Mae Love’s (Patrice Lovely) old recipes. Love In The City Sundays at 10 p.m. friends Kiyah, Bershan, Chenoa and Tiffany have known each other for more than ten years, and are constant sources of inspiration, support, competition in New York where they balance, relationships, careers, life experiences and friendship.
Gugu Mbatha-Raw stars in “Beyond the Lights”
Opening in theaters on November 14th, Beyond the Lights stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Nate Parker, Minnie Driver, and Danny Glover. The romantic drama tells the story of Noni Jean (Mbatha-raw), the music world’s latest superstar. But not all is what it seems, and the pressures of fame have Noni on the edge until she meets Kaz Nicol (Nate Parker), a young cop and aspiring politician who’s been assigned to her detail. Drawn to each other, Noni and Kaz fall fast and hard, despite the protests of those around them who urge them to put their career ambitions ahead of their romance. Sanaa Lathan joins cast in “The Perfect Guy”
“Stomp the Yard” director, Sylvain White’s latest feature The Perfect Guy is a thriller where revenge becomes a man’s sole mission after being spurned by a lover. Sanaa Lathan cast alongside Morris Chestnut and Micheal Ealy plays Leah Vaughn, a lobbyist who walks away from a longterm relationship with Dave (Chestnut) after she realizes he’s not ready to get married. Soon after ending the relationship with Dave, Vaughn meets Carter Duncan (Ealy) who seems like the perfect man. The film is set to release next year, reports eurweb.com.
