IWC Sponsors Gospel Concert

The International Women's Commission will host the ‘In Memory' Gospel Benefit Concert on November 13, at 4 p.m., at the Downey Civic Theatre located at 8435 Firestone Boulevard in Downey (next door to Mimi's Café and Embassy Suites).

The event will raise funds for the American Heart Association to increase awareness throughout Southern California communities on building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke, by properly caring for their hearts.

The concert will feature Shervonne Wells (formerly of the Kurt Carr singers), Saxophonist J. Boykin, Sherri Bryant, Devo Called ‘n Chosen, Larry Houston, Mike James Kirkland and others.

"There will be high praise, singing, and dancing throughout the entire concert. There will also be vendors on site as well as an open concession stand. Don't miss this spectacular event! Invite your friends and family to come with you," said Dr. Cassundra White-Elliot, IWC founder.
