Fresh off the success of his two relationship-advice books, syndicated radio personality Steve Harvey is pitching a daytime talk show to NBC Universal to premiere in 2012.

According to NBC-owned The Root, the show will focus on similar issues as his books, and will feature Harvey's unique style of humor about men and women's relationships.  If given the green light, the show will be executively produced by Harvey and his longtime business cohort Rushion McDonald.

Harvey, the host of the syndicated “Steve Harvey Morning Show” and the update of the popular TV game show “Family Feud,” has received praise for his relationship guides.

The 2009 release “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man: What Men Really Think About Love,” rode the top of The New York Times' best-seller list for 44 weeks.  The following year, he released “Straight Talk, No Chaser” which also received critical praise.

Though some reports claimed that Harvey is still pitching the talk show, The Hollywood Reporter said in August that it was already sold.  Regardless, NBC Universal execs told The Root that Harvey's popularity makes a potential show a sure-shot to earn high ratings.

Also adding to the entertainer's sprawling résumé is a film version of his book “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.”  The movie began production this summer and will feature R&B singer Chris Brown in the leading role.
