Tatum Speaks at Crossroads UMC

Crossroads United Methodist Church will celebrate Annual Women's Day on Sunday, October 23, at 4 p.m., at 2354 North Wilmington Avenue in Compton, announced Pastor Royce V. Porter.

"A special invitation is extended to everyone throughout the city to join us. Our dynamic, anointed speaker will be Ms. Edna Tatum, nationally-known radio host on KPFK-FM 90.7 and a renowned commentator in the Gospel music arena," said Rev. Porter.

"The theme for Women's Day is ‘Women of Vision Moving Forward!' The chairperson is Sister Marion Bush and co-chairperson is Sister Vernita Proctor."

The Women of Crossroads will participate in the service and music will be rendered by the ‘Crossroads Women's Day Chorus' directed by Minister of Music Linda B. Miles. Also, other special guests and soloists will perform.

Ms. Tatum began her career extending words of welcome, reading Sunday morning announcements, and introducing choirs, groups and soloists. Her ability to articulate and communicate the word of God launched her into a vast arena of Gospel artists from coast to coast.

‘The Voice,' as she is fondly called, has hosted concerts and narrated for such gospel legends as Rev. James Cleveland, The Fourth of Mary, Rev. Daryl Coley, Albertina Walker, Kurt Carr and many others. A member of the National Gospel Announcers Guild, Ms. Tatum is also widely recognized as part of the Gospel Music Workshop of America, Inc.
