San Bernardino, Ca - In her run for the newly-created 47th Assembly District, long-time local business owner and community leader Cheryl Brown has received support from Josie Gonzales, Chair of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors."I am endorsing Cheryl Brown because in all my dealings with her I've found her to be a person of true integrity, hard working and dedicated to serving the people and communities she represents," said Gonzales. For three years Supervisor Gonzales and Brown worked together as commissioners on the Children and Family Commission of San Bernardino County (First 5 San Bernardino). As the Commission's Chair and Vice Chair respectively, the pair steered the organization through an extensive transition that has repositioned First 5 San Bernardino to become one of the leading commissions in the state.“While on the Commission Cheryl was a fiercely, passionate advocate for our children. She always made sure the First 5 staff and our partner agencies provided the best essential programs and resources for San Bernardino County's 0 to 5 population and their families," said Gonzales. "Knowing personally how committed she is to providing the best services for her community, as well as how humbly yet purposefully Cheryl adapts to leadership for the sake of those whom she represents, I agreed to endorse her run for Assembly," she added. Before giving her support, Gonzales received Brown's commitment that when she wins the Assembly seat she will stay true to the residents and continually fight to represent their best interests."As I told Supervisor Gonzales, my first responsibilities will be to the people I represent and the local government officials who also serve them," said Brown.“I am excited and honored to have the Supervisor's endorsement because she is so well respected throughout the county as well as the state. Josie definitely will be one of my key advisors when I am elected to represent the newly formed 47th district,” she said. Cheryl Brown is seeking election to the new 47th Assembly District that will serve Colton, Fontana, Grand Terrace, Rialto, Muscoy, Bloomington and a portion of San Bernardino.
