Emmanuel Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C.) will celebrate Annual Men's Day on Sunday, August 28, at 11 a.m., at its edifice located at 1399 East 33rd Street in Los Angeles.

"We invite the public to attend this service and hear our keynote speaker, Elder Don H. Williams, pastor of The Gathering Place Family Worship Center COGIC in Los Angeles," said Superintendent Wilbert Jones Jr., pastor, who added that the Men's Day theme is ‘Christian Men Called to be Holy.'

Elder Williams was ordained into the C.O.G.I.C. ministry in June 2000. Also, he has served the Southern California region in many capacities such as facilitating revivals and outreach musical concerts; participating in the Jurisdictional, Regional and National Music Departments; supporting missionaries in foreign fields; and as assistant minister of music at West Angeles C.O.G.I.C.

"This dynamic minister and musician/songwriter has been doing a yeoman's job in developing his vision ‘to proclaim and demonstrate the love of God to the world' at The Gathering Place Family Worship Center since becoming pastor in June 2001," said Supt. Jones.

"His humble spirit, genuine heart for people, and his dramatic presentation endear him to his diverse audiences of all races and ethnicities."

Agreeing with Supt. Jones, Bro. Edward Wilbourne Sr., Men's Brotherhood president, and Elder James Eskridge, vice-president, said, "Many testimonies of hope, healing and transformation confirm the powerful, positive impact of Elder Williams' message of what is required when Christian men are called to be holy.

"Everyone attending will be moved by his message of vision, leadership and hope. Additionally, we are so proud because he is a former member of Emmanuel and served as church organist from 1981 to 1985."
