My Brotherhood

Hello World, if I may, please allow me to capture your attention for a few brief moments as I would like to discuss with you my opinions of brotherhood.

This past week I had the pleasure of attending my fraternity's centennial celebration in Indianapolis. I along with my best friend (Oliver L Baines III) traveled together from California to Indiana. At this point in our lives, Oliver and I do not get many opportunities to fellowship, like we did in undergrad at Cal State University Fresno. So, whenever we have the opportunity, we hang out like kids with no responsibility.

The reason I am discussing my friendship with Oliver and our travels to the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternities 100 year celebration is this, "my brotherhood with Oliver and Kappa has kept me sane and freed me from my personal demons." I hope that who ever reads this article gains the understanding that human beings are social creatures and on many occasions we become the company we keep. The fundamental purpose of "Kappa" is "Achievement." I know for a fact, my desire to achieve in life is a direct reflection of my best friend Oliver and my membership in Kappa!

Even though I possess the natural energy to engage in noetic activity, I believe my innate desires have been encouraged by my brotherhood! Many of you who read my articles know my biological family background; "I have never met my mother and my father solicited clients to engage in negative acts of fornication with my mother, to supply both their drug addictions."

Well, there have been many occasions in my life where I have contemplated negative behavior such as alcohol and drug abuse as an escapism. My brotherhood helped me fright through those enticements.

If you have a son, or a brother, or a cousin, or a husband, or a father, or even a friend, please understand that brotherhood can cure many ailments; both mental and physical that may affect him. Please encourage brotherhood in young males so they may become mature adults who can raise children of their own!

I have developed an appreciation for brotherhood and feel blessed to have these experiences. I encourage you all to explore the same!
