High praise and powerful worship will highlight the Long Beach Gospel Fest as major recording artists perform before an audience of thousands. The annual event, set for Sunday, July 10, at 11 a.m., unites the faith community with businesses, elected officials, and civic leaders in a spiritual experience focused on God.

The free festival, founded by Pastor Wayne and Lady Myesha Chaney, takes place in downtown Long Beach at the intersection of Pine Avenue and Shoreline Drive. The Chaneys are pastor and first lady of Antioch Church of Long Beach, a widely acclaimed congregation known for its dynamic and diverse ministries.

"This festival brings happiness and hope to all who attend. With all that is going on in the world today, many feel discouraged and forgotten. Each year, hundreds of disconnected people find hope in meeting congregations and organizations that lead them to a purpose in life. We believe that the community needs to hear the good news," said Lady Chaney.

Over the years, the Gospel Fest has attracted nearly 20,000 people to enjoy entertainment, food and vendors. Also, several City agencies and local firms offer resources and information to assist residents.

"We have hundreds of volunteers who come together with congregations, business organizations, and political figures, all fueled by the unifying effects of gospel music to reunite individuals with their community and what it has to offer," added Lady Chaney, who will perform during the festival as well.

The festival line-up includes recording artists James Fortune, Mali Music, Kierra Sheard, Trin-I-Tee 5:7, Micah Stampley, Durward Davis, Kevin Henderson and Redefined, Pilgrim Strangers, Worship Center Community Church, and the Voices of Destiny.
