Third Church Welcomes Meggs

A new chapter in the life of Los Angeles Third Church of Religious Science starts Sunday, July 3, when Rev. Lisa Meggs is installed as the new pastor. Reverend Lisa, as she is known, succeeds Dr. Ronnie Jones who recently retired after 25 years of service.

Rev. Lisa is the first female pastor in the 78-year history of the church. Reverend Lisa has attended Los Angeles Third Church since coming with her grandmother at the age of three. As a young woman, she began her Religious Science Studies. Reverend Lisa met and married her husband, Paul, also a minister and an import/export business owner, and they have continued the journey as a team to greater Spiritual enlightenment for the past twenty-two years.

Having addressed the L.A. Third Church Congregation many times in the past decade, Rev. Lisa is very comfortable in the pulpit. She said, "I am honored and pleased to accept this position and extremely excited about the future of Los Angeles Third Church. We have always been a very progressive membership and with God's grace and guidance, together we will move to the next level of Spiritual awareness. Our teaching and consciousness is to live our lives in peace, love and service to our Community and we look forward to the next seventy-eight years."
