The first Bible Study meeting of Abundant Grace.

A year of worship, praise and service to God will be commemorated when Abundant Grace Bible Church holds its first anniversary celebration on Sunday, June 12, at 3 p.m.
The theme of the observance is ‘Abundant Grace Confirmed in Christ,' with a scripture reference of I Corinthians 1:3-9. Senior Pastor James Jenkins will preach and the special guest will be the Celestial Voices Chorale under the direction of Choirmaster Gashon Holden.
The flourishing growth of Abundant Grace sprang from a home-based Bible Study hosted by Pastor Jenkins and his wife, Mrs. Kathye Jenkins, early last year. As the study attracted more and more people, Pastor Jenkins turned to God for guidance. Compelled by God to step out on faith, he shared the vision with his own pastor, Rev. Perry Jones of the Messiah Baptist Church, along with his wife and son, Bishop Michael Jenkins.
"Alone, in meditation, I asked the Lord for a name and He uttered a single word, ‘Grace.' I shared the name Abundant Grace Bible Church with the faithful souls connected to our Bible Study group and together we began the work of building a Church that declares and demonstrates the power of grace in all generations," he said.
Bishop Jenkins, who serves as Executive Pastor, oversees the administration of the church. In addition, he shares fully in pastoral ministry at Abundant Grace and has played a key role in building the ministry to its current status over the past 12 months.
"We have so much to be thankful for. Abundant Grace is the visible fruit of the seed of faith and what she is becoming is marvelous in our eyes," said Bishop Jenkins.
"At the start of this year, we preached a series called; The Year We See Results and I truly believe that God has honored that Word. We have already begun to see results and I am humbled to think what God will do with us and through us in the years to come," he added.
Abundant Grace Bible Church holds Sunday worship at 11 a.m., at 14124 South Prairie Avenue in Hawthorne in the American Legion building. Services are held at 3 p.m., on the second Sunday of each month.
