Obama: Made in the USA Talk about taking a lemon and making lemonade: that is just what the Obama campaign appears to have done. Since the birth certificate brouhaha just won't go away, then according to one Obama staffer, "If the facts can't make these ridiculous smears go away, we can at least have a little fun with it," not to mention make some money at the same time. She also wrote, "There's really no way to make this stuff completely go away. The only thing we can do is laugh at it--and make sure as many other people as possible are in on the joke."Now, it seems like it's the President's time to have some fun as he gears up his re-election campaign. Thanks, Donald Trump; thanks to all the birthers; now who's laughing. After the Trump fiasco, many thought the birth certificate issue was put to rest, but there seems to be some die-hards out there who just would not let it die. Though he once resisted making his birth certificate public, the president's campaign is now printing T-shirts with a picture of the President on the front with the notation "Made in the USA," and a picture of the birth certificate on the back. Anyone who donates $25 or more to Obama's 2012 re-election campaign will get the T-shirt.Last week Wednesday, the campaign advertised the T-shirts, along with birth certificate mugs, in an e-mail to supporters. Some marketing experts say that it's a stroke of genius. These false claims about Obama's purported ineligibility for the presidency have been dogging the campaign since 2007 and Trump seemED to have given it new life recently, only to be shot down when President Obama presented his actual birth certificate--born in the USA- on national television.Still there are some doubters. And though no one will say it publicly, there obviously is a racial element at work here. There are some Americans who cannot come to grips with the fact that a Black man has been freely elected as the president of the United States of America ... they just can't seem to accept it ... face it ... or get over it. President Obama almost pleadingly said, "We do not have time for this silliness, we've got better stuff to do," on television referring to it as a distraction from the real issues facing the country. He has even reportedly said that he can't walk around with his birth certificate plastered on his forehead. It was then that his deputy campaign manager Julianna Smoot decided to ask his supporters to wear it for him, according to an email message that she sent out. Apparently the campaign also placed it on the website stating, "Wear your support for this campaign with an official 'Made in the USA T-shirt'."
