L-R: Associate State Director Sherrie-Ann Gordon of AARP; VP Eugene Eng of Verizon; Andres Gonzalez, Coordinator, St. Barnabas Senior Services; Diane Baer, Coordinator, Los Angeles Dept of Consumer Affairs; Councilmember Bernard C. Parks; Associate State Director Ericka Lozano-Buhl of AARP; President and CEO Charisse Bremond Weaver of Brotherhood Crusade and George Weaver of Brotherhood Crusade.

Brotherhood Crusade and AARP hosted a community seminar to discuss how to use technology to enhance the quality of life especially for seniors.

A panel of experts explained the daily uses of technology and provided everything from keeping in touch with the family and managing a healthy lifestyle to avoiding fraud and consumer tips for everyday folks.

The theme of the event was "Getting A Grip on Technology" and was geared toward bringing technology education to adults age 50 and over in South Los Angeles and to discuss how their goals and values can drive their use of technology.

The hosts included Charisse Bremond-Weaver and George Weaver were joined by Councilwoman Jan Perry (who engaged in some prolific exercise-dancing) and Councilman Bernard Parks, in whose district the event was held.

Members of the audience readily participated in the morning's activities and they were promised that AARP and the Brotherhood Crusade would be conducting more of the same throughout the Southern California region.
