Rap star "Nate Dogg", aka Nathaniel Hale, has died at age 41, according to the Long Beach Press-Telegram.

Hale was born in Long Beach and is known for rapping with icons such as Snoop Dogg and Warren G.

Throughout his career, Nate was noted for his legendary collaborations as he was featured on numerous top selling albums.   Nate was known as the "hook master" and he will forever be remembered for his catchy hooks and unique vocals.

The Long Beach Press Telegram reports the rap star's family announced his death Tuesday. The cause of death isn't known, but Hale did have strokes in 2007 and 2008.

Nate Dogg will be missed and cherished by his fans and the Long Beach community.  He was loved by many and his legacy will continue to live through his family and music legacy.
