Beneath the fear of success and failure is the fear of pain. The most motivating factor in human action is the desire to avoid pain, and do what promise us pleasure. Fear is the primary emotion that prevents us from taking action, making changes and clearing up situations in our lives. Fear comes from not knowing if the action we want to take is the right action, the one that will work. Also, we are not sure if taking this action will result in some loss to us. Fear can be conceptualized by comparing it to a prison, a place that confines you within a limited range of action. However, the less you fear the more power, freedom and courage you will have.
Some say courage is going to failure-to-failure without loosing courage. Whereupon, courage is not the absence of fear it is the proceeding with action in spite of fear. The moving out against the resistance engendered by fear into the unknown, and into the future. The person who has conquered doubt and fear has conquered failure and themselves. Thus, they will be able to fearlessly, rather then fearfully, Journey through life. To conquer fear we must learn the art of counter balance, when you are fearful, force yourself to act in a bolder fashion than usual. You have to be like "Nike" and just do it. If you feel fear before you make a different move don't fight it, let yourself be scared. It's your body's natural response to novelty and uncertainty; it's designed to tune you up to peek readiness, not to paralyze you. It's only the fear of fear that can do that, not fear itself. We will fair way better by listening more to our hopes and not our fear. I known much of what I have conveyed in this writing may seem like common sense is to some of you. However, we all know how uncommon common sense is in actual practice.
