The 2011 Annual Mid-Winter Board Meeting of the Western Baptist State Convention takes place from Sunday, March 6, through Friday, March 11, at Mount Sinai Baptist Church, 3669 West 54th Street in Los Angeles. Rev. Dr. J. Benjamin Hardwick is WBSC president and Rev. George Hurtt is host pastor.

The week-long activities begin with a Grand Musical on Sunday at 6 p.m., sponsored by Landmark with A New Vision. Rev. R. Darnell Dyson is moderator. On Monday, a seminar on Evangelism will be held.

Registration is on Tuesday at 8 a.m. and the business session starts at 9 a.m. The noon worship will feature Dr. John Nix McReynolds as speaker. Dr. McReynolds is pastor of Secord Baptist Church in Santa Ana.

Wednesday’s program will start with Deacon R. Gilkey, president of the Laymen. Rev. Alvin Tunstill Jr., pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Los Angeles, will speak. At 4 p.m., the Pastor’s Conference will convene with Dr. Dudley D. Chatman.

The Women’s Department is highlighted on Thursday under Dr. Benecia Toms, president. The noon speaker will be Rev. Seth Pickens, pastor of Zion Hill Baptist Church. The Women’s Department Luncheon will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sis. Margaret Flenoy and Sis. Edwina White are the coordinators.

Friday’s agenda includes the Moderator’s Breakfast at 8 a.m. and business session at 9 a.m. Dr. David C. Greene, pastor of Second Baptist Church in Linda Vista, will speak at 12 noon and at 6 p.m., the youth and the young adults will be presented by Sis. Bobbie Pringle and Rev. Virgil Jones, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Los Angeles.
