I stand on the corner,
Looking for recognition,
Do I exist?

Blazing neon lights,
Piercing my soul,
Lighting my misfortune.

Cold and bare,
Wearing only a forgotten shame,
Where is my life?

I just need a "hello,"
A "Hi," "Can I help?"

Do you see me?

I was somebody too,
I have a name,
I had a place,
I am somebody.

You see a shadow,
You hear an echo,
You pass by,
I wonder why.
