Haney Vehemently Denies Mayweather’s Allegations

Gym owner says boxing trainer is lying about threats

The sport of boxing has not been without its characters that enter the sport from humble beginnings.

There is a long list of promoters, fighters and managers who found their home in a sport that for decades has been highly unregulated.

Recently, entrepreneur Bill Haney and his longtime friend opened a new gym in Las Vegas named ‘The Hit Factory’ that has been garnering news for all of the wrong reasons.

In just a short period of time The Hit Factory has attracted some of boxing’s most reputable figures in trainer Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, former world champions Zab Judah and Hasim Rahman just to name a few.

Another notable trainer, Jeff Mayweather, was approached by gym owner Haney to join the association.

Mayweather an uncle of famous fighter Floyd has recently claimed that Haney threatened him, but Haney vehemently denies the allegation.

“I have nothing but respect for Jeff Mayweather. He is an outstanding trainer and a noble boxing man. For him to say that I would do anything to harm him is ridiculous,” said Haney.

What transpired that has caused the recent rift between Jeff Mayweather and Bill Haney, according to Haney is a misunderstanding over a female fighter that Mayewather is training and has a relationship with.

According to several sources, the female fighter appeared at a party attended by Haney’s young son among others and the woman allegedly engaged in improper behavior with the under aged boy.

The woman was taken to Mayweather’s home and the circumstances explained, according to the source.

She was unharmed, and Las Vegas police have yet to contact Haney or any of his associates regarding the matter, according to sources.

While there was a conversation between both Mayweather and Haney, it never escalated beyond words and there were not any threats issued against the trainer, according to Haney.

The allegations that Mayweather has posted on various boxing internet sites has already smeared Haney’s reputation with a local non-profit groups that aids amateur boxers in the city.

“I’ve lived in Las Vegas for several years now. This gym is my dream. I have a promising 10-year old son who is an excellent fighter. I have other young aspiring fighters that I am helping with their career. I want nothing but the best for Jeff Mayweather and his family,” concluded Haney.
