Success is a Journey
By Alfonzo Tucker
"Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome (Arthur Ashe)".
Failed by my mother only to be instructed by my father to obtain wealth by the use of diabolical wit; unfortunately my conscience would not permit.
In the second grade I could not focus long enough to comprehend. As a result, I experience the second grade, again.
Am I angry, no? I am disappointed though. When I needed help pertaining to reading and arithmetic, I was taught how to read body language and earn money from a woman while she turned a trick.
My behavior often altered my destination. Whether, it was a humble walk to the renters' office, to make a payment on the rent, or a trip from counselor's office, due to my anger and a clinched fist.
The doing for me has led to a graduate degree, and the understanding that education has always been my key.
Success is the journey, and life is the blessings you accept along that spree; whether that trip is spent positively or negatively.
Try choosing your own destiny. Then success becomes your own journey.
