Fred Lee Frazier, Sr. Celebrating 100 Years

Fred Lee Frazier Sr., a resident of Terrell, Texas celebrates his 100th birthday. Fred was born May 10, 1910 in a small community known as Rose Hill near Terrell Texas.

He was the third of eight children born to Monroe Frazier and Betty Johnson Frazier.

He was married to Mamie Towns for 68 years before her death in July 2001. To this union five children were born, Fred Jr., Annie Lee, Cleveland, Bobby and Billy. Fred is a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Terrell where he served as a Deacon and President of the Usher Board. He is a 32nd Degree Mason.

Fred was drafted into the army May 1942, and was trained in the medical corp. He spent his entire army service in Alexandria, Louisiana. Even though he was trained for work in any hospital and had received a certificate for Body and Fender repair, he didn't want to do either after his discharge from the army in 1945. He returned to farming where he worked for many years. After leaving farming he worked for over forty years for the family of James Bowers of Dallas, Texas.

Fred is often seen around the church neighborhood of South Terrell cutting and trimming trees, doing house and yard maintenance. His unselfish contributions were rewarded in 2009 when Alex Dixon chose Mr. Frazier's property as his project to get his Eagle Scott rank.

The project was to remove the white picket fence surrounding the property and replace it with a brand new painted fence.
